Name: Bronson Pinchot

Born: May 20, 1959, New York, New York

Claim To Fame: We all know Bronson as Larry's goofy cousin Balki from the ABC family sitcom Perfect Strangers (1986-1993).

Family Life: Parents are Rosina, a typist, and Henry Pinchot, a bookbinder. His mother was Italian American and his father, who was born in New York and raised in Paris, was of Russian descent. Has a brother, Justin, who had a guest role on the Perfect Strangers episode "It Had to Be You".

Info: He was raised in southern California and graduated from South Pasadena High School. While attending Yale University on a full scholarship, Pinchot first studied painting, but soon became interested in acting. He made appearances in feature films such as Risky Business, Beverly Hills Cop (and reprising his popular supporting role in Beverly Hills Cop III), True Romance, Courage Under Fire and It's My Party. He adopted a humorous foreign accent for his role in Perfect Strangers as Balki Bartokomous from the (fictional) island of Mypos.

Once Perfect Strangers came to an end in 1993, Pinchot starred in the CBS sitcom The Trouble With Larry. However, the show was canceled after just three weeks. He replaced Sasha Mitchell on the ABC sitcom Step by Step in 1996 and stayed on the show for a season. Pinchot also starred in the 1997 science fiction comedy Meego on CBS, and guest-starred on an episode of the NBC sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun. In 1999, Pinchot was praised for his deft impersonation of Stan Laurel in the movie The All-New Adventures of Laurel and Hardy: For Love or Mummy.

Where Are They Now: For the past nine years, Pinchot has devoted much time to the restoration of the circa 1839 mansion of former Pennsylvania Senator Edward Jones in Harford, Pennsylvania.

He has purchased several properties in the town in an attempt to return the town to its 1800s appearance. Currently, he is suing the town's historical society for the rights to a small triangular island.

This year, Pinchot lent his voice to audio editions of author Chip Kidd's novel The Learners. He is also the voice of Max, the fully restored Black 1964 VW Beetle in the Volkswagen "Das Auto" campaign.
