Jason Scott Lee was born in Los Angeles, but raised in Hawaii from the age of two.
Lee is of both Hawaiian and Chinese descent.
His interest in acting began while studying in high school.
He enrolled in Fullerton College, where he studied under acting coach Sal Romeo.
Trivia:
Although they share the same surname, Jason Scott Lee is of no relation to Bruce Lee.
Trained in Jeet Kune Do with former Bruce Lee student, Jerry Poteet, for the role of "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" (1993).
Auditioned for the role of Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat (1995), but lost out to Robin Shou.
Chosen by Goldsea Asian American Daily as one of the "100 Most Inspiring Asian Americans of All Time".
Where Are They Now:
Lee has completed work on the film 'Alaska Is a Drag' with Margaret Cho and Nia Peeples. It is currently in post-production.
