Review: There's a bomb on a bus and a young LAPD Officer (Keanu Reeves) must prevent it from exploding by keeping the bus' speed above 50 mph. 1994 was a great year for movies! The Shawshank Redemption, Clerks, The Lion King, Pulp Fiction, and so many more. I think 'Speed' tops them all! I love the action, the tension, the characters, the dialogue, and the stunts are unbelievable. I think it's the first action movie since 'Die Hard' to reinvigorate the action genre. It's a such a clever movie, too. It that takes a ridiculous premise and makes it one of the most entertaining viewing experiences I've ever had. Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Joe Morton, Jeff Daniels are great, but Sandra Bullock is the star of this one. She's wonderful! What 'Jaws' did for swimming, 'Speed' did it to public transportation. It's the definition of "Thrill-ride!"
Fun Fact: Joss Whedon re-wrote the script uncredited. According to Graham Yost, the credited writer, Whedon wrote most of its dialogue.
