Review: New York cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) tries to reconnect with his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) during her company Christmas party, but when terrorists, lead by the charming Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), take control of Nakatomi Plaza and it's up to McClane, his quick cunning and smart mouth, to save the day. 'Die Hard' is the action movie that all other action movies strive to be. So much so that action movie were sold as 'Die Hard on a...Plane, Bus, Boat, and so on.' What those other movies forgot about was that true key to Die Hard's success was a great villain, here played by the brilliant Alan Rickman. The reason that John McClane is such a great hero is Hans Gruber is a such a charismatic bad guy. The rule to follow in action movies is your hero is only as good as your villain. The action, direction, acting, humor, characters, score, cinematography, editing, everything about this movie is perfect. It's the perfect action movie. If you look up the word 'perfection' in the dictionary it'll say to watch 'Die Hard'. Yippee-ki-yay,...!

Fun Fact: The Nakatomi Tower is actually the headquarters of 20th Century Fox. The company charged itself rent for the use of the then-unfinished building.
